The meeting emphasized that to consolidate the good situation of agricultural and rural development, and to maintain the basic development of the "three rural" development, animal husbandry and veterinary work has heavy responsibilities and arduous tasks. All relevant units of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs must strengthen the "four self-confidence", establish the "four consciousnesses", resolutely achieve the "two maintenance", focus on the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, and focus on "excellent supply, strong safety, and ecological protection". The goal is to stabilize pigs, promote the dairy industry, prevent epidemics, reduce veterinary drugs, control manure, and adjust the structure, and unite and gather all forces to fight against African swine fever, deepen the supply-side structural reform of animal husbandry, accelerate the transformation of the development mode of animal husbandry, and steadily improve the comprehensive production capacity and core competitiveness of animal husbandry.
The meeting requested that the promotion of animal husbandry and veterinary work must be closely integrated with poverty alleviation, further improve political positions, strengthen organizational leadership, fully complete the specific tasks undertaken, and better play the role of animal husbandry in helping poverty alleviation.
The meeting was presided over by Ma Youxiang, chief animal pastor of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
